The Child Center of NY operates the Roosevelt Island Beacon Program at PS/IS 217. The RI Beacon provides after school student enrichment programs for grades Kindergarten through 8 as well as evening and Saturday programs for adults too.

Calling All Community Talent – Evening & Saturday Beacon Programs!
The Roosevelt Island Beacon Program is gearing up for another exciting school year, and we’re looking to partner with community members to bring fresh, engaging activities to our Evening and Saturday programs for middle schoolers and adults!
Before we open opportunities off-island, we want to give our Roosevelt Island community the first chance to share their skills and passions. Whether it’s Pilates , Yoga , Computer Science , Zumba , Art , Cooking , Dance , or something completely unique, we’re all ears!
Details:
- Evening Programming: Mondays–Fridays | 5:00–9:30pm | September–June
- Saturday Programming: 9:00am–4:00pm | September–June
- Audience: Primarily adults from our community looking for enriching and fun activities.
