A lot of people doubted that the busiest city in this country would be the right place for bike sharing, but New Yorkers voted with their feet! As of today, we now have bike sharing in all five boroughs with dockless bikes #inTheBronx. pic.twitter.com/0EWTatxSVr

Except no bike sharing on Roosevelt Island.

As previously reported , the Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC) recently met with the NYC Department of Transportation to discuss bringing bike sharing to Roosevelt Island and Cornell Tech students were working on a pilot project for Roosevelt Island dockless bike sharing. No info yet on results of RIOC bike sharing meeting. Yesterday, I spotted a dockess Ofo Bike

on Roosevelt Island outside of Gristedes.

Others have spotted Ofo dockless bikes too.
I saw this bike outside the Roosevelt Island subway station two days ago…HEL2NYC (@NYTTYTTYY) July 31, 2018
But the NY Post reported July 20:
One of the dockless bike companies that was set to start operating in the city has already dropped out of the program.
China-based Ofo, which was supposed to provide 200 dockless bikes in the Bronx later this month, abruptly announced Thursday that the company will be scaling back international operations and not coming to New York City….
So, what’s the Ofo Bike doing on Roosevelt Island?
