Taxi Tour of Roosevelt Island via You Tube
The American Planning Association’s (APA) New York Chapter is organizing The Future of Roosevelt Island Walking tour to be held on Saturday, September 20 starting from the Manhattan Tramway Station at 11 AM. According to the APA:
Join us for a walking tour of Roosevelt Island. The population of this planned community has been growing as the next phase of development gets underway. The Island had less than 10,000 residents in 2000. Today it is estimated to have 12,000 with several thousand more expected to live in the new residential buildings in development in the Southtown neighborhood. We will look at the new development from many perspectives:
Presenters will include:I hope the organizers or one of the participants is able to record the walk and presentations. Would be very interesting for everyone not able to attend to see. – 9:30 PM – If you are interested in the tour please RSVP to the organizers. There may not be any more space available. – 9/18 – I am advised that the walking tour has been sold out. There is no additional space available for the tour.
