UPDATE 8:50 PM – According to the NY Post:

Kanye Wests Yeezy Season 4 collection was unveiled Wednesday and it was a total, unmitigated and utter fiasco.

Models stumbled and bumbled down a makeshift runway as the stilettoes designed by the modesty-challenged rapper disintegrated under their feet.

The much-anticipated event which started nearly two hours late was staged on the grounds of a long-abandoned smallpox hospital on Roosevelt Island….

… As a state park, West’s choice of venue, which is owned by New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, likely required quite a bit of planning. Between special events permits, sound permits and an array of insurance (including city-required property damage insurance of at least $1,000,000.00), the making of West’s show is no small (or inexpensive) feat. And in case that’s not enough, the park is closed all day in preparation for the show, which began over an hour and a half later than scheduled….

I asked Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC) Acting President Susan Rosenthal:

Was RIOC told about Kanye West Yeezy fashion show at Fdr park before hand.

Any logistical problems?

Ms Rosenthal replied:

We found out about it Friday afternoon….we made a decision for safety reasons to close Southpoint park during the event.

And:

No fee for event; that was paid to Four Freedoms Park. We did bill certain permit fees and public safety expenses.
