Roosevelt Island Historical Society (RIHS) President Judy Berdy offered a red banner welcome to Cornell Tech at the RIHS Visitors Center Kiosk yesterday. Ms Berdy shares these photos and reports:
The RIHS has welcomed our new neighbors with a banner celebrating the arrival of Cornell Tech.
Standing on the terrace of the Visitor Center Kiosk are: Bill Willard (kiosk staff), Judith Berdy (RIHS President), Floyd Young, Jane Swanson, Julie Delay, Jesse Rivera, Scott Yost, Andrew Ferrera, and Andrew Fowler of Cornell Tech.
Also, welcomed was Cornell Tech Director of Capital Planning Andrew Winters. As reported July 19:
… The Roosevelt Island Cornell Tech campus and new Tech Cafe were originally scheduled to open on Monday July 17. However, the campus and cafe public opening has been delayed for a few days. According to a Cornell Tech spokesperson the campus and Cafe opening:
… will be a rolling process over the next couple weeks,…
and students/staff will begin moving into the Residential building starting August 1….
