The Roosevelt Island Rivewalk Bar & Grill closed for good last Labor Day and since then residents have been hoping to see a new restaurant take its place. But so far nothing.

There was a glimmer of hope yesterday when activity was seen inside the former Riverwalk Bar space.

Another resident reported:

Activity at Riverwalk Bar and Grill as of 6:15 pm.

At least 10 people inside milling about.

Aluminum patio chairs are loaded in truck parked on path to subway.

But the hope was dashed when one of the former owners was spotted today having equipment

removed from the restaurant

and carted away into a truck

with a sign saying they buy used restaurant equipment. Yesterday I asked the landlord for the space, Hudson Related:

Any update on new tenant for Riverwalk Bar.

… Or other retail tenants- Hot Pot, Eleanor Cafe, Mexican restaurant?
