The Roosevelt Island Islamic community has been looking for a permanent home on Roosevelt Island for a long time.
They have one now at the former Cabrini Chapel 564 Main Street space.
In reply to my inquiry confirming the news, a Hudson Related representative said:
Yes R.I Islamic Society is taking over the Chapel space.
In 2014, I spoke to members of the Roosevelt Island Islamic community at the Farmers Market about their seeking a permanent home on Roosevelt Island.
The Roosevelt Island St Francis Cabrini Catholic Church moved to its new and larger home last January 2018.
