Meet Max the Macaw 🦜 , Roosevelt Island’s most colorful new resident!
With feathers as bright as a sunset and a voice that carries across the East River, Max isn’t just a bird—he’s a living rainbow with wings. Native to the rainforests of Central and South America, scarlet macaws like Max are brilliant, bold, and brainy.
Fun fact? Max can live up to 50 years, crack nuts with his beak like a pro, and even mimic your voice if you’re lucky. Oh—and he’s loyal, loud, and loves the spotlight.
So if you hear a squawk near the Tram, look up. That’s just Max saying hello.
