Zohran Mamdani, the 33 year old NY State Assembly Member from Astoria, defeated former NY State Governor Andrew Cuomo in the first round of the Democratic Party 2025 Mayoral primary and will be the official nominee after completion of the ranked voting tallies next Tuesday.
According to the NYC Board of Elections, Mr Mamdani had 43.51 % of the vote to Mr Cuomo’s 36.42%.
The NY Times neighborhood election results map shows Roosevelt Island voters favored Mamdani over Cuomo by 13/14 points.
Roosevelt Island voters are in the 76 Assembly District Election Districts 59 -62.
Election District 59 includes 504, 510, 516, 531, 536, 540 and 546 Main Street.
Election District 60 includes 1East Loop Road, 405, 415, 425, 430, 455, 460, 465, 475 and 480 Main Street.
Election District 61 includes 900, 888 Main Street, 2, 4, 10, 20, 30, 40 River Rd
Election District 62 includes 551, 555, 575, 595, 625, 560, 576, and 580 Main Street.
