As previously reported, the MTA will be making route changes to the Roosevelt Island Q 102 bus service and F train weekday subway service. NYC volunteer transit advocacy group Passengers United took a table at the July 5 Roosevelt Island Saturday Farmers Market to help explain these changes to residents.
I spoke with Passengers United President Charlton D’souza and Vice President Jack Nierenberg about the upcoming changes to Roosevelt Island MTA Q 102 bus service beginning August 31. and the Roosevelt Island F train to M train subway service swap (weekday between 6 am to 9:30 pm) scheduled for December 2025..
Changes to the Q102 take effect August 31, 2025.
The Q102 will now connect Long Island City and Roosevelt Island with a new, more direct routing. In Queens, the route will start at Court Square, traveling to Roosevelt Island via Jackson Av, 31 St, and 36 Av. On Roosevelt Island, the route will be shortened to terminate at the Roosevelt Island Tramway. The N and W Train will provide service along 31 street…

… Passengers United is volunteer-driven, powered by everyday New Yorkers who regularly use mass transit to live and work. Our team is dedicated to making our mass transit better for everyone, putting your needs and concerns first and foremost. Our work includes, among much more, mobilizing communities throughout the region and raising your important issues with our MTA and government officials to ensure that all community members, especially those who are disenfranchised and/or in more vulnerable situations, are heard and represented. In doing so, we maintain independence from corporate and special interest groups as we humbly serve with love and dedication, keeping our mission — to make public transit better for everyone — at our forefront of our efforts.
Passengers United does love Roosevelt Island.
They are also advocating for overnight Roosevelt Island bus service.

Any news about Public Safety apprehending a man in front of the service entrance of Rivercross? All 6 PS employees and the chief were there at about 9:00AM this morning.
