Take a look at this beautiful painting featuring the Roosevelt Island Tram crossing the East River next to the Queensboro Bridge with the NYC skyline in the background titled Evening – Roosevelt Island by the artist Thomas W. Schaller.
According to Mr Schaller’s You Tube Channel:
This is a start-to-finish watercolor painting demonstration recorded in real-time. In this video, I cover intention, composition, values – as well as interpretation, design, formatting, drawing, sketching, and perspective, etc.The emphasis here is simplification of a seemingly complex urban scene. The scene depicts an evening view of the Manhattan skyline as seen from Roosevelt Island. The 59th Street Bridge is featured, but light and context are the real stars of this show.
