Roosevelt Island Sports Executive Director Arya Shirazi announced today that registration for the Roosevelt Island Baseball Little League 2026 season is now open. According to Coach Arya:

It’s that time again! We’re very excited to announce that registration for Roosevelt Island Baseball has begun…
Spaces are limited and in high demand this year so get your child signed up ASAP!
As always, the league will include 3 different age groups: T-Ball (5-6yrs), Minors (7-10yrs) and Majors (11-15yrs).
*7-year olds who are beginners to baseball might be assigned to T-Ball, in order to accommodate the high volume of registration in the Minors division.
Children and their families can expect a safe, organized and electric 9-Game season, beginning on April 4th. Games will be played on Saturdays, with 1-2 scheduled weeknight games as well. Highlights of the season will include the All-Star game and Team Picture Day, before the schedule finishes with a flourish in June with the playoffs, an always thrilling championship game, and the ever-popular tradition of the All-Girls game to cap things off. The league has prioritized recruiting high character parents, young professionals, and other leaders from the community who are ready to invest much of their spring into coaching in this special neighborhood youth baseball league.
PLEASE NOTE: Dates for all important league events are subject to change.
Attached you will find the steps for registering your child for little league this season (please note, we are ONLY accepting ages 5+). Children are developing their skills as ballplayers at a faster rate each year, thanks to their passion for the game and the commitment from our coaches. More importantly, they are learning to become great teammates. Their show of leadership, teamwork and camaraderie make all the hard work and dedication extremely rewarding. It gives us great pride to be a part of providing this meaningful youth program for our community, as we look forward to another successful season.

The first of a nine game Roosevelt Island Little League season began today at Capobianco Field for boys and girls playing in the T Ball, Minors and Major divisions.
The action today was highlighted by a mammoth home run hit over the fence and on to Main Street
and a walk off double to finish an incredible comeback win.
