Roosevelt Island resident Matt Katz notes a missing issue not addressed by the RIOC Newsletter:
Dear RIOC:
Thank you for your newsletter but it has no reference to a critical issue that reoccurs every spring. I’m referring to the overcrowding of the Tram by tourists who come to view our cherry trees. The absurdly long lines impact every resident, especially seniors, the disabled, and the community who commute every day to school, jobs and doctors appointments. We have brought these issues to you and to our elected reps with suggestions as to fixes, including passes that anyone can apply for. There has been no response, much less a solution. RIOC is at the center of the problem and RIOC must address it, preferably through a town meeting or some other mass communication method. Please deal with this problem.
