Caroline Shinkle is the Republican party nominee running in the 12th Congressional District, to succeed the retiring long time Congressman Jerry Nadler. The 12th Congressional District includes Roosevelt Island as well as the East and West Sides of Manhattan. Ms Shinkle is running against the Democratic Party nominee Micah Lasher.
Ms Shinkle was campaigning last Saturday, October 3, at the Roosevelt Island Farmers Market.
I spoke with Ms Shinkle about her background, issues facing the district, running as a Republican in a heavily Democratic Party area and any scheduled debate with Mr Lasher.
I spoke with Mr Lasher at Roosevelt Island day last June 6 when he was running in the Democratic Party primary election.
More information on Ms Shinkle is available from this WABC Cats & Cosby radio program,
her website and Instagram page.
