and divers are in the East River working on the pilings.

According to Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC) Assistant Vice President Communications & Government Affairs Bryant Daniels:

Work on Eleanor’s Pier is continuing on schedule, with reopening anticipated in summer 2027. The divers and workers pictured here

were performing grout work and pile cleaning along the pier’s edge this week,

following demolition work that was completed several weeks ago. The total cost of the rehabilitation work is expected to be approximately $1.3 million.

During a July 13, 2026 walking tour of Roosevelt Island west side waterfront infrastructure projects with local residents, RIOC Senior Director of Capital Planning Claudia Filomena reported on the Eleanor’s Pier repair work to be done.

Work has not begun yet on repair of the East River Boat Prow and North Pier. More info here.
