You’re invited to attend the Monday Monday October 6 Manhattan Community Board 8 (CB 8) Roosevelt Island Committee meeting via Zoom starting at 6:30 PM.
Here is the Zoom link for the meeting.
CB 8 Roosevelt Island Committee Chair Paul Krikler reports:
We are delighted to welcome BJ Jones, the new President of the Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC). We will be collecting questions ahead of time so please log your questions here.
CB 8 Roosevelt Island committee member Sharon Pope-Marshall will also be discussing a resolution opposing the F/M train switch proposed by the MTA.

Here are two questions from me:
- What is the status of the Roosevelt Island Tram Quick Pass proposal to allow pass holders priority access boarding the Tram? The last we heard was that the Governor’s office was considering the idea. Do you support the idea?
- What is the status of the Roosevelt Island Master Lease negotiations with NYC and NY State? Do you support the idea of extending the current Master Lease or some other option?
What questions do you have?

Passports for free rides on the Roosevelt Island Tram should be granted to the elderly and disabled residents of Roosevelt Island. There are not many of them, and it won’t cause much financial loss to the MTA. However, it will be beneficial for improving their physical and mental health.
This special Roosevelt Island Tram free pass can be distributed and managed by the Roosevelt Island Senior Center.
