Join us on Saturday, May 2 from 10:30 AM – 2:00 PM for I Love My Park Day. Lend a hand to beautify FDR Four Freedoms State Park, a stunning memorial honoring freedom and democracy. It’s a fun and rewarding day to give back to your community and make a lasting impact on this historic park.

- Project 1: Hand-pull weeds from linden tree pits and spread mulch to cover irrigation tubing.
- Project 2: Rake and mulch around the Welcome Booth and Renwick Ruin fence line.
- Project 3: Assemble and refurbish Adirondack chairs for the Great Lawn.
- Project 4: Arrange seating for the Out of Silence artist talk.
Location
Meet at the gray Welcome Booth at the park entrance.
What should volunteers bring?
Tools and gloves will be provided. Dress for the weather, wear comfortable closed-toe shoes, sun protection or rain gear. This event is rain or shine.
Family Friendly Projects
Weeding and mulching are appropriate for families.
Artist Talk at 2pm
After volunteering, stay for a talk at 2pm by Hans Rosenström, the artist who created Out of Silence. The sound installation can be experienced at the Park from April 29 – June 21, 2026.
