Laura Dunn is an attorney running in the Democratic Party 12th Congressional District Primary, which includes Roosevelt Island as well as the East and West sides of Manhattan, to succeed the retiring Jerry Nadler. Ms Dunn was campaigning this evening in front of the Roosevelt Island subway station and Good Shepherd Plaza.
I spoke with her for a few minutes in front of the Roosevelt Island subway station.
Ms Dunn told me:
… I want to represent NY 12 and make sure that we have accountability, congressional term limits, ending insider trading, ethical standards at the Supreme Court, and affordability.
That’s universal healthcare starting with catastrophic coverage, affordable housing that’s funded, that’s led by the city and matched by the federal government. And of course, equalizing the tax system. We know the wealthy aren’t paying their fair share, so I want to make it simplified for all. So, thank you so much for giving me this opportunity. You’re going to see me here on Saturdays at your farmers market.
