Received this message from a Roosevelt Island resident last night:
There is something going on at the pier – police cars, 3 ambulances, police boats, helicopter with flashlight …
Then a Jason Tweet:
Hey @notifynyc what’s up with all the police boats and helicopter around the south end of Roosevelt Island?

Image From Ashley The Roosevelt Island Operating Corp ( RIOC ) sent this advisory at 10:17 PM last night:
Due to an incident requiring NYPD and FDNYresponse along the west drive and riverwalk area ALL Red Bus Service will be operating along the east drive until further notice.
Sincerely,

I asked RIOC what happened at the Pier last night and received this response from their Press Spokesperson earlier today:
Last night (10/25/12) at approximately 9:35pm, PSD responded to an alleged jumper in the East River. NYPD Harbor Unit responded and after a search, deemed it unfounded. Any other questions should be directed to the NYPD.
