While the MTA shut down the elevated NYC subway stations and airlines have cancelled flights in and out of NYC for today’s snowstorm, the Roosevelt Island Tram has been carrying riders over the East River today. Resident Nick Turner tweets:

According to the Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC) Tram History fact sheet:
… The Tram can operate in all weather conditions except for lightning and winds over 50 miles per hour….
