Opening Reception: Saturday, January 10 | 5–7 PMRIVAA starts the New Year off with a bang in Smoke and Mirrors, a solo exhibition of new artwork by Tony Vita running from January 8–February 1, 2026.
He moves through many forms as a multimedia artist, weaving photography, animation, video, and sound with a hand shaped by a lifetime in traditional media. His work emerges less from planning than from a stream of consciousness, unfolding intuitively as it takes shape. It is more a way of seeing than a style- a point of view that quietly insists upon itself. Each piece becomes a metaphor, an attempt to give visual presence to ideas and feelings that language cannot express.
The opening reception takes place at RIVAA Gallery, 527 Main Street, Roosevelt Island on Saturday, January 10, from 5–7PM.

On Sunday January 11, RIVAA Gallery is presenting An Operatic Potpourri Chamber Music Concert for Winds, Strings and Piano.
An Operatic Potpourri
Chamber music inspired by the operatic stage.Written for a Vienna garden soiree in 1814, Hummel’s Grande Sérénade en Potpourri quotes from operas of Mozart and Cherubini to create a painting of bucolic life, presented alongside two other works that showcase the members of this unique ensemble.
Celebrating two years of RIVAA Gallery Concerts, an independent concert series curated by Yi-heng Yang, presented at RIVAA Gallery.
