The Roosevelt Island 2026 Summer Outdoor Movie Series begins this Friday, July 17, with the showing of How To Train Your Dragon
followed the next 3 Fridays by:
- July 24, Wicked: For Good
- July 31, Superman and
- August 7 Zootopia 2.
According to the Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC):
Summer 2026 Summer Movie Series.
A series of four films shown at Southpoint Park on a 40-foot screen, includes food vendors selling on-site, pre-film music and on-screen slide presentations.
Event starts at 7 pm, movies start at sunset.
Rain Dates August 14 and 21.

Roosevelt Island’s Southpoint Park is a gorgeous site on the East River waterfront to watch an outdoor movie.

Attention Roosevelt Island,
Out of an abundance of caution, tonight’s screening of “How to Train Your Dragon” has been cancelled.
The Summer Movie Series will return next week with “Wicked: For Good” on July 24th at 7 PM.
