NY Times Article Features Family Returning To NYC Choosing Roosevelt Island 3 BR Rental Over Upper West Side, Uptown & Downtown For $7240 Month

… Roosevelt Island was love at first sight for the couple. It wasn’t just the walkway, but also the abundance of open space, the lighthouse at the island’s north end, Four Freedoms Park at the south end, the weekly farmers market, and curiosities like the island’s cat sanctuary. They were equally charmed by what Roosevelt Island did not have: honking horns and other similar auditory disturbances….

… The couple considered several buildings and settled on a three-bedroom unit at the Octagon for $7,240 per month. What sold it for them were the views of the East River and the parade of passing boats, many of which they can now identify by name….

… “I don’t think we’ll ever move away from Roosevelt Island,” she said. “We have fallen in love with it so much.”
