You Tube Video of David Ortiz Looking For Love From Yankee Fans As a lifelong NY Yankee fan I hate to say this but I know some Roosevelt Island residents, one member of Red Sox Nation in particular, who would give Big Papi a huge hug of appreciation if he came to Roosevelt Island. But can a Yankee fan give Big Papi a hug after all the misery he’s put us through since 2004, particularly the loss of the 1918 chant? I think real Yankee fans can shake Big Papi’s hand and tap him on the back in acknowledgement of his talent as a great clutch and power hitter but not a hug. That’s a little bit too much and might upset the legendary ghosts and spirits at Yankee Stadium – Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio. Mantle, Munson etc, etc.
