August Forum Spotlight on Roosevelt Island
July 28, 2013New York is a city made up of islands, so Roosevelt Island, the 2-mile long island in the East River might seem unremarkable, but it features a wealth of unique systems and a rich history that are worth taking a moment to examine! Thats why in August well be doing one of our Spotlight features on it. Well hear about the planned Cornell Tech campus which will break ground in 2014 and will be home to NYCs largest net-zero building, learn about the tidal turbines that are grid-tied to the Island (the first such system in the world!), and hear about some of the sustainable buildings on the Island. Its going to be a great evening and we hope youll join us for it!
