Image of NYPD Helicopter and Boat underneath Queensboro Bridge Searching East River There was some commotion about 5:30 PM this evening when a low flying NYPD Helicopter
together with NYPD and FDNY boats
were observed searching the East River near Roosevelt Island. FDNY EMS personnel were also at the scene on Roosevelt Island near the Queensboro Bridge. The Roosevelt Island Twitterverse reports:

Roosevelt Island Public Safety Director Jack McManus said that there was a report of a person in the East River but the report turned out to be unfounded.
