Dear Roosevelt Island Community:

Due to the forecasted weather this weekend, we have decided to move Roosevelt Island Day back one day, from Saturday, June 7th to its rain date, Sunday, June 8th.

Join us from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Firefighters Field as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of residents living on Roosevelt Island with games, inflatables, kids activities, food, music, community booths, giveaways, and more!

RIOC adds:

Join us for a day packed with free activities, entertainment, and community spirit as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of residents living on Roosevelt Island!

Here’s what’s happening throughout the day:

 All-Day Fun (11AM–4PM):

  • Inflatables, carnival games, photo booth, and DJ
  • Community group tables with giveaways, arts-and-crafts for kids, info and more!
  • Graffiti hats, balloon art, caricatures, face painting, and tie-dye shirts
  • Free food including hot dogs, bagels, cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones and more! 

 Bike NY Activities (11AM–4PM):

  • Learn-to-ride bike lessons for adults and children at Capobianco Courts (registration required)
  • Free mobile bike repair

 Music & Movement:

  • 12:00 PM: Family sing-along at Firefighters Field with MSTDA
  • 12:00–3:00 PM: Free youth soccer at McManus Field with Two Bridges Academy 
  • 12:30 PM: Latin Rhythm & Movement class with Frahydel

 Pet Services:

  • 1:00–4:00 PM: Free face and nail trims for dogs by Roosevelt Island Pups
  • 11:00 AM–4:00 PM: Pet registration with PSD 

 End-of-Day Fun:

  • 3:30 PM: Community run hosted by the Roosevelt Island Runners

 Bonus:

  • 10:00 AM–2:00 PM: Electronics recycling drop-off at the Roosevelt Island Senior Center
  • 11:00 AM–4:00 PM: Free Bombas socks from the Roosevelt Island Disabled Association and RIOC at Firefighters Field
  • 11:00 AM-1:00 PM: Community planting event at Firefighters Field Hosted by iDig2Learn (registration required)
