The 20th annual Roosevelt Island Fall For Arts Festival will take place Saturday September 13. According to the RIVAA Gallery and Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC):
RIOC & RIVAA are seeking artists to paint a mural for the 2025 Fall for Arts Festival!
This year’s Festival will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025. As in the past few years, we are offering artists two themes to select from for their mural submissions: “Freedom from Fear” and “Freedom to Imagine.” There will be thirty-one panels available for painting on Meditation Lawn.
The process is competitive. Submission for a mural does not guarantee participation. Anyone interested in painting one of the 6’x 8’ panels is required to submit a design based on one of the two themes. The following rules also apply:
- Only one submission per person is permitted.
- Submissions must be sent in by August 8th, 2025.
- The submission can be painted or drawn but must be a finished version of the idea you are submitting.
- The submission should be in color if the final work is in color.
- Additionally, you are required to paint whatever design you submit. You may not change it to something else if it is selected without first asking permission.
- All work must be two dimensional. 3-D elements cannot be added.
Selected artists will be supplied with basic acrylic paint colors (black, white, red, yellow, blue, green) water, brushes and mixing trays. You are welcome to bring your own acrylic as well as your own brushes and whatever else you may need.
There is no age limit to apply! Children are welcome to apply with parental permission.
