Roosevelt Island, Yorkville and Upper East Side NY State Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright is seeking nominations for the 2026 Women Of Distinction Awards which recognizes extraordinary women who are making our communities stronger.
This is the 12th year that Assembly Member Seawright is honoring outstanding Women Of Distinction in her district. Last year, 5 Roosevelt Island women were honored including:
- Beatrice Ajaero
- Christina Delfico
- Verna Fitzpatrick
- Stephanie Herlihy and
- Sharon Pope-Marshall.
2025 Woman Of Distinction Award winner Christina Delfico reports:
NYS Assembly Member Rebecca A. Seawright hosts the Women of Distinction Awards every year for her district which includes the Upper East Side and Roosevelt Island.
Traditionally, 25 are awarded yet only about five come from Roosevelt Island.
This is a really nice way to show off great women on the island to represent our community.
What is great about this is that the nominations all come from neighbors.
It was so fun to be part of the 2025 awards alongside a handful of island women it would be great to have more nominees!
