Roosevelt Island volunteer Cherry Blossom Petal Protectors were featured in this April 15 CBS New York story.

According to a Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC) Instagram post:

Our Cherry Blossom Petal Protectors have been working hard to keep Roosevelt Island’s beloved trees safe — and they’ve seen it all. This week alone, volunteers have stepped in to stop visitors from pulling down and sitting on branches, plucking flowers, stepping on tree roots, and even bringing step stools to reach higher branches.

Please help us protect these beautiful trees for everyone to enjoy. Look, don’t touch! 🌸
