The NY Public Library Roosevelt Island branch manager Kate Fredericoni reports:
Dear Roosevelt Island Community,
Welcome to Summer at the Library! We have many exciting initiatives underway at the library this summer! In celebration of the U.S. 250th anniversary, we are hosting a variety of programs for all ages. Don’t miss out on the Special Edition US250 library card when you sign up for a new card (available while supplies last).
Our Adult Summer Reading Challenge is also officially underway! Stop by the library to pick up your bingo card! If you complete a single row, you’ll win a library tote bag. If you fill out the entire card, you can take home a NYPL baseball cap (available in three colors).
Lastly, we are conducting a community survey to better understand our adult audience interests and needs. By participating, you will help us improve access to our current adult programs and shape the future offerings of your library!
I have attached the complete July Program Guide

Patrons ages 18 and older are invited to drop in and record their own audio stories with support from a trained NYPL staff member. All contributions to the We the People: Reflections on America’s 250th, which is powered by StoryCorps, will be considered for inclusion in the Library’s permanent collections to preserve history for future generations. Patrons do not need to bring anything to the session.
