More than 100 trees were toppled and hundreds more were damaged in Central Park during the fierce thunderstorm that moved over New York City on Tuesday night. It was the most severe destruction that the parks trees had sustained in at least 30 years, according to officials at the citys Department of Parks and Recreation and the Central Park Conservancy, which manages the park.
