Roosevelt Island Has New Picnic Benches At Octagon Park And Blackwell Park Playground – New BBQ Grills At Octagon Park Too

One resident expressed concern that the picnic tables could no longer be moved closer to each other allowing larger families and groups to eat and socialize together. On the other hand, the stationary picnic tables may discourage any one group from using all the tables allowing more groups to enjoy the picnic tables. RIOC also placed picnic tables next to the Blackwell Park playground. I had asked RIOC to place some picnic tables under the trees next to Blackwell House but RIOC said that due to the upcoming renovations of Blackwell House that would have to wait until next year.
