Roosevelt Island resident and Girl Scout Troop 3233 member Itziar Borja del Campo was one of 3 Girl Scouts representing the Girls Scouts of Greater New York at a Yankee Stadium pregame welcome ceremony behind home plate
and was shown on the Giant Jumbotron screen prior to the April 27, 2025 game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Yankees were celebrating STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), business and other leadership skills learned by the Girl Scouts. (Itziar can be seen at the 1 Minute 42 second mark of this video.)
Itziar Borja del Campo demonstrates many of the fine qualities taught by the Girl Scouts Of NY as a ballplayer in the Roosevelt Island Little League
and a member of the Tech Hoppers Robotics Team.
