Roosevelt Island’s incumbent NYC Council Member Julie Menin defeated challenger Collin Thompson in the 2025 Democratic Party primary election yesterday.
Roosevelt Island voters are in the 76 Assembly District Election Districts 59 -62.
According to the NYC Board of Elections, Julie Menin received 819 votes from Roosevelt Island and Collin Thompson received 336.
I spoke with NYC District 5 Council Member Julie Menin several weeks ago about Roosevelt Island and other district wide issues including congestion pricing, NYC Sanctuary City policies and public safety issues.
Ms Menin also arranged a recent meeting of local residents with Governor Hochul’s office to discuss a Fast Pass proposal for the Roosevelt Island Tram.
Ms Menin will face Republican challenger Alina Bonsell in the November general election.
