The In Food We Trust Instagram page shares the New Year’s Eve Countdown from 2025 to 2026 while riding the Roosevelt Island Tram over the East River to Manhattan.

There is something incredibly cinematic about entering 2026 suspended in mid-air over the East River, surrounded by a group of complete strangers.

I timed my tram ride from Roosevelt Island back to Manhattan to start at exactly 11:59 PM (Thanks, Kyra!), and honestly, it was the ultimate NYC experience.

It’s one of those rare, serendipitous moments that reminds me why I love this city, taking a simple commute and turning it into a front-row seat to the future.

Floating between the skylines as the clock struck midnight wasn’t just a ride, it was a unique, shared memory that I’ll be talking about for years to come.
