I Love My Park Day heralds the start of spring with this statewide call to volunteer. Come celebrate the fifth annual statewide I Love My Park Day at Four Freedoms Park! Show your appreciation of NYS parks by volunteering to help keep the Park beautiful, clean, and welcoming.
Your efforts will enrich the beauty of Four Freedoms Park while contributing to the overall health of the landscape. This is a great day to work alongside like minded people and to learn more about behind the scenes at Four Freedoms Park.
Project 1: Weed identification and removal at Park Entrance, followed by mulch application around Cherry Blossom Trees.
Project 2: Scout in and around the Copper Beech Trees groundcover for weeds, insects and disease. Removal of weeds and replenish mulch. Rake crushed gravel to distribute evenly in and around Beeches.
Project 3: Hand pull weeds from Linden Tree pits, patch mulch where needed.
