Roosevelt Island resident and Wildlife Freedom Foundation founder Rossana Ceruzzi is featured in a documentary, Isle Wild now available on You Tube.

According to the documentary’s co- producer Daniel Schloss, Isle Wild is:

A short documentary following Rossana Ceruzzi–a Roosevelt Island animal rehabilitator, community leader, and founder the Wildlife Freedom Foundation and cat sanctuaries on the island–as she fights to save one of the last remaining wild areas in New York City.

Ms Ceruzzi is often called upon to help injured animals on Roosevelt Island. Watch as Ms Ceruzzi rescues an injured hawk on Roosevelt Island’s Main Street in 2021.

  1. It’s a lovely story, I saw it at a previous film festival on island. Rossana is a great credit to the island and the animals that live here! We owe her a debt of gratitude, not just for the cats she helps but all the other wild animals whom she assists.
