On May 16, 2024 the FDR Four Freedoms Park hosted a panel discussion on controversial books that have been banned through history and up to the present day.
The discussion was moderated by Katrina vanden Heuvel. Panelist included:
- Christine Emaran of the National Coalition Against Censorship,
- Nick Buron Queens Public Library Chief Librarian,
- Amy Mikel Director of Customer Experience at the Brooklyn Public Library
- and Megan Madison author of Our Skin: A First Conversation About Race and Amy Mikel .
