According to Katie and Andrew’s You Tube page:

Every TikTok tells you not to waste your time going to Roosevelt Island on a trip to New York City. What is even on Roosevelt Island? We decided to check it out for ourselves! Who are Katie & Andrew? Katie grew up in a small town on the coast of Washington State (think Twilight country), and Andrew grew up in San Diego, CA. We met when we were both interns working at Disneyland and have been inseparable ever since. After getting married in 2015 we decided we wanted to dedicate our lives to adventure and fun! We have traveled to 33 states, 11 countries (so far), and have visited Disney theme parks probably over 500 times in the last 13 years. We are always looking for the next venture, because as we like to say, “you can make even the simplest things like going to the grocery store fun.” When we are not filming or traveling you can probably find us making pancakes or traversing whatever city we are in to see all of the local movie/tv filming locations in person.

Katie and Andrew made an entertaining video showing Roosevelt Island from the perspective of visitors who have never been here before and make an effort to explore all of Roosevelt Island, not just the Tram ride. Watch the video.

  1. As a visitor, you can check out the new app, VisitRI.NYC, to explore the many highlights of the island, not just the Gondola.

  2. The Tram is a mode of actual real TRANSPORTATION and not a “fun Disney ride”, for residents of our small community. During “tourist season” especially, residents need to be given extra boarding consideration, especially our seniors and disabled population.

  3. And you didn’t go to the northern end of the Island to see Lighthouse Park, The Girl Sculpture, and “The Tom Otterness sculpture on the westside of/in the East River… Did you at least give any of our stores any business???

  4. There certainly are restaurants on Roosevelt Island- Mediterranean Eatery which has terrific falafel, chicken shwarma and great pita bread. There’s also Grannie Annies, Rolls and Bowls and Nisi. We have an art gallery, too
